I’m Pastor Shane Newton. I am the Senior Pastor here at LPFBC. I came as the Senior Pastor at LPFBC in October of 2020. Before serving at LPFBC, I was the Senior Pastor at Walden Chapel Baptist Church in Danville, AL. I served as a Student Pastor for sixteen years before God transitioned me to the Senior Pastor role. The Lord has blessed me to serve in the Gospel Ministry for twenty-three years.

So here is a little bit about me:  I am married to my middle school sweetheart Anna. She is the love of life and my soulmate. Anna is an incredible Pastor’s wife and she works with special needs kids as a paraprofessional at Lakeside Primary School. We have two children who are now young adults.  Britany, our oldest is married to Specialist Tristion Atkins and they are stationed with the Army in Honolulu, HI.  Dylan is our youngest and he is junior at Liberty University. I get the special blessing of serving with him on church staff.  Our third child is our Boston Terrier named Jill.

I grew up in Decatur, AL. I started going to church by riding a church van at the age of 7. I came to faith in Christ at the age of 10. After graduating high school, I went to the University of North Alabama where I played football and was part of the 1995 National Championship Team. An injury cut my football career short during my sophomore season. In 1997, the Lord called me into the Gospel Ministry. I started serving as a Youth Pastor in 1998. I received an AA in Christian Ministries from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I received an BA in Religion from Luther Rice Seminary. I have a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries from Liberty University.

I have a few passions. One is my family. I love spending time with my family. The older I get I enjoy the experiences and the times I get spend with my wife and my two children. I love the sport of football. I am lifelong Alabama Football fan and enjoy watching, coaching, and occasionally playing (flag football) football. Another passion is I love is reading.  I hated reading when I was younger, but I have developed a love for a good book. Also, I enjoy hiking. My last two passions are my Lord Jesus Christ and people.  I want to walk daily with my Lord Jesus and become more like Him each day. God has given me His heart for people. I am very passionate about seeing people come to faith in Christ and start following Jesus! I am beyond excited that the Lord has called me to Pastor at LPFBC. The Lord has given me the privilege to serve with a church family that loves the Lord and wants to reach the world for Christ.
